Regional Theatre Technology - Byron Center Program Description - Two-Year Program As a partnership, the Kent Intermediate School District offers the Regional Theatre Technology Program at Byron Center High School and Northview High School. This two-year program prepares the student for careers in theatre technology with training in the technical aspects of theatre production. Ten hours of each week are concentrated on mastering the 27 elements of stagecraft. Working alongside a professional road show technician, the student will gain experience in a real life setting. Upon satisfactory completion of the 27 elements, students may earn the title of "Apprentice." The apprentice will learn about the correct and safe way to stage a show. Throughout the program the student will be required to work as a crew member on live shows at the Van Singel Fine Arts Center. Additional hours toward a major or minor focus can be earned through work in a home school or community theatre production. Content Areas
