Banking and Financial Services

Program Description - One-Year Program
Banking and Financial Services introduces students to careers in financial services and prepares them for entry-level positions throughout a bank or credit union. Knowledge of various banking products, services, and procedures, as well as security guidelines, are all included in the program. Students are provided with further opportunity to study departments and services of financial institutions as member service representative interns in the KCTC branch of the Lake Michigan Credit Union and various lending and operations departments off-site.

This program provides a student with beneficial skills and excellent employment opportunities. Banks offer tuition reimbursement programs to their employees attending local colleges, resulting in promotions into management positions upon completion. Students who complete Computerized Banking may be granted advanced placement and/or college credit by Davenport University, Ferris State University, Grand Rapids Community College, and Northwood University based upon competency testing and instructor recommendation.
