Automotive Technology Program Description - Two-Year Program The Automotive Technology Program at Kent Career/Technical Center is certified through NATEF, the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation. Course instruction includes standards recommended for ASE certification. The program offers students extensive career opportunities in the automotive service field. An 18-week introductory course allows students an opportunity to explore what a career in automotive would really be like. The second opportunity, the career tracks, is offered to those students who complete the introductory course and decide that automotive technology is a career they wish to pursue. The career tracks will expose the students to the skills and knowledge necessary to become certified in specific repair areas. Content Areas: Intro. to Automotive Technology

Benefits for the College Bound The Automotive Technology Program is an articulated program with both two-year technical degrees and four-year baccalaureate automotive and automotive management programs at Grand Rapids Community College, Ferris State University, University of Northwestern Ohio, and Northwood University. For Enrollment Purposes Students interested in Automotive Technology enroll in the Introduction to Automotive Technology class for one semester. Before each following semester the student will choose a career track class. At the conclusion of two years the student will have completed an introduction and three semesters of career track classes in automotive technology. |
