Accounting Systems and Solutions

Program Description - Two-Year Program
This program offers students an opportunity for career exploration and prepares them for a variety of careers in the accounting field. Students develop skills to systematically record and summarize financial transactions. They process financial information both manually and with the use of financial computer software. Computer applications also include word processing, spreadsheets, databases and presentation software. Accounting and employability skills are applied in business setting simulations. Students with previous high school course work in accounting may be immediately eligible for the second year curriculum. Following completion of this program, students may choose to go directly into employment or to use their training as a basis for continued education.

Benefits for the College Bound
Accounting Systems and Solutions provides a student with skills to use while financing a college education. Students may be eligible for advanced placement and/or college credits upon completion of this program through articulation agreements with Davenport University, Grand Rapids Community College, Ferris State University, and Northwood University. Credit may be granted upon competency testing and instructor recommendation.
